St. Davids Assemblies - Environmental Statement

Client: Welsh Development Agency

TACP were commissioned by the Welsh Development Agency to undertake an environmental appraisal of the impact of a new factory development in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The proposed development consisted of a 3100m2 factory, 120-space car park and service yard and was located on a very sensitive site just east of the city of St. Davids. At the request of the National Park Authority and the WDA, the appraisal focused on the visual traffic implications. A comprehensive landscape mitigation schem was prepared following site appraisals and photomontage techniques were used to predict the impact of the development. The document has been instrumental in securing planning permission for the development and in defining an appropriate approach to landscape mitigation.

Other Environmental Statements have included;

  • Cig Mon - co-ordination of an Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Statement for the relocation of the Cig Mon abattoir from Llangefni, Anglesey, to Mona Industrial Park.
  • Gilwern Park - assessment of the direct, indirect and cumulative environmental impact of the proposed Gilwern Park phase 3 development on the amenities of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
