Limits of Acceptable Change

Severn Gorge, Shropshire

Client: Severn Gorge Countryside Trust

TACP were commissioned, as a part of a composite team, to develop an Integrated Management Plan for a number of sites within the Severn Gorge around Ironbridge, totalling over 700 acres, the sites are managed by the Severn Gorge Countryside Trust. They are predominantly woodlands, often of nature conservation, landscape and archaeological value and form an integral part of the Ironbridge World Heritage Site. The study adopted the use of Limits of Acceptable Change approach in order to establish a consensus management strategy, addressing landscape, recreation and interpretation issues.
