Village Enhancement Study

Client: South Pembrokeshire Action for Rural Communities (SPARC)

TACP were commissioned to prepare an enhancement study for the village of Amroth. The village lies within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and is a popular tourist destination in summer.

The study consisted of a thorough appraisal of the existing physical environment and an audit of the landscape resources and features. From these findings, together with knowledge of public opinion gauged from detailed consultation with local residents, TACP prepared a comprehensive environmental improvement strategy. Recommendations were made for the management or improvement of public services and utilities, surface treatments, street furniture and a number of new landscape features were proposed. The village image and the management of traffic and car parking were especially sensitive issues.
