
Royal Military Canal, HytheClient: Shepway District Council TACP were part of a multi-disciplinary project team commissioned to develop an Integrated Management Plan for a 7km stretch of the Royal Military Canal in Shepway District, Kent. The Canal is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and is adjacent to a number of designated sites of nature conservation and landscape importance. The Plan reconciles the demands of archaeology, conservation, recreation, landscape, tourism and engineering requirements, taking into account a diverse range of underlying landscape characteristics. The strategy document establishes a prioritised action plan to enable the District Council to seek funding assistance and develop work programmes. |
