Llanelli Coast ImprovementsClient: Llanelli Borough Council Since 1990 the Llanelli Joint Venture group has been carrying out a phased improvement to a 3 mile stretch of the coastline immediately bordering the town environs. Aims of the project have been to;
Artificial breakwaters have been formed reaching out into the Loughar Estuary between which new beaches have been created utilising imported sand. A 6m wide promenade was then created to an attractive curving line up to which new development can now take place. The old dock approaches were dredged and a new wharf area created for boat users. TACP were involved in advising on aspects of function and aesthetics throughout much of its length, particularly in relation to the promenade. We are also involved in the masterplanning of the adjoining first phase of development, a combination of high quality housing, leisure and tourism provision. |
