Baglan Energy ParkPort Talbot, South WalesClient: BP Welsh Development Agency BP entered into a Joint Venture with the Welsh Development Agency and undertook the redevelopment of a large area of land adjoining the chemical works at Port Talbot, South Wales to create the Baglan Energy Park. The site presented technical problems such as extensive large concrete foundations, chemical contamination, high-water table, sand, industrial waste substrates and coastal exposure. TACP had a major input into the initial feasibility and then subsequently in the masterplanning and detailing in the perimeter landscape structure, landscape to road infrastructure and entrance feature areas. The scheme also incorporated the futuristic C8 solar powered building and a raised attenuation pond drainage system. A high quality landscape identity was evolved and implemented with signature design entrance and quality public realm features. |
