Planning Supervisor Services

To minimise risks on construction sites, the CDM Regulations impose a statutory duty on the Client, Designer and Contractor to review the planning of health and safety issues from design conception to contract completion and regard to maintenance operations.

Professionally implemented, the process improves the quality and efficiency of the design and construction process by assessing hazards and risks at the design stage, developing construction strategies and techniques, and documenting maintenance risks.

TACP has been at the forefront of providing CDM Planning Supervisory Services since its statutory implementation in 1995 with professionally qualified and experience supervisors capable of advising on and dealing with projects of varying scales, complexity and sensitivity.

The service covers;

To advise the client of his duties under the regulations.
To advise the client, where required, on the competency and resources of other designers in respect of health and safety.
To ensure that designers give adequate consideration to health and safety aspects of their designs.
To ensure that designers co-operate with each other in those aspects.
To notify the project to the Health and Safety Executive.
To prepare the Pre-Tender Health and Safety Plan.
To advise the client, where required, on the competency and resources of contractors in respect of health and safety matters.
To examine the construction phase Health and Safety Plan prepared by the principal contractor and to advise the client on its adequacy.
To ensure that the principal contractor's Health and Safety Plan is developed during the construction phase.
To ensure that the Health and Safety File is prepared and handed to the client on completion.

To date TACP have acted for over sixty clients as Planning Supervisors on a wide range of construction projects that include buildings, engineering and landscape.
