Large Sites for New Investment Projects

TACP were commissioned by the Welsh Development Agency to undertake a major planning research project. This was concerned with the identification of large sites (greater than 14ha) for new investment projects through their area of operation in North and South Wales. The study was undertaken in two stages. The first stage was concerned with a broad sieving exercise which involved consultation with local authorities, appraisal and review of development plans and a commercial overview of the industrial sector; in all some 140 sites were identified. The second stage involved a more detailed appraisal, including planning context, access and service provision and development constraints of 38 sites.
