Gladstone Road Link, Barry Marine

central station: urban design

Client: Vale of Glamorgan Borough Council

In December 1993 TACP were commissioned to produce urban design proposals for the Gladstone Road Link gateway feature. The linear corridor forms an important gateway to the Barry Dock redevelopment proposals and provided the opportunity for a high quality landscaped link between Barry Dock area and Barry Town.

The urban design included their search of three design schemes and the formulation of a detailed masterplan. The masterplan included design for the proposed central station, roundabout treatments, a park concourse, lighting and public realm details.
