Integration of Habitat Info Projects into TACP

We are delighted to share that TACP (UK) Ltd has bought the geospatial/mapping enterprise and goodwill from Habitat Info Ltd and its owner, Rob Davies.

This reinforcement of our geospatial service is especially meaningful for us, as prior to joining TACP, Tim Wroblewski, Director and Head of our Geospatial Service worked with Habitat Info and helped Rob develop the early phases of these projects.

Global Raptor Impact Network (GRIN)

TACP now maintains the Android, iOS and web infrastructure for the Peregrine Fund (USA), supporting an international programme dedicated to the conservation of threatened and endangered raptors.

GRIN synthesises the African Raptor DataBank with the Peregrine Fund’s Global Raptor Information Network, creating a unified platform through which researchers can collect, curate and analyse spatial and ecological data to advance global raptor conservation science.

West Wales Biodiversity Information Centre

Our role encompasses the maintenance of spatial databases and the provision of advanced Geographic Information System (GIS) support.

In collaboration with partners including the
Wales Council for Voluntary Action, Local Nature Partnerships and the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority, we design and implement bespoke online mapping and reporting tools that underpin evidence-based decision-making and nature-based solution planning.

OneWorld Sustainable Investments

Working with this Cape Town and Brussels-based organisation, TACP contributes spatial analysis to help build socio-economic and environmental resilience to climate and resource pressures.

Current work focuses on the
assimilation and analysis of spatial data to identify priority intervention zones for ecological adaptation aimed at enhancing water resource security in South Africa.

By integrating these projects, TACP extends its portfolio of applied ecological research and spatial analytics, reinforcing our commitment to evidence-driven strategies for biodiversity conservation and climate adaptation.

We’re grateful to Rob for placing his trust in us as he focuses on developing Rookwood Studios and continuing his own creative and conservation work – he shared these thoughts:

The mapping projects that we developed over the last two decades at Habitat Info (with Tim) have made recognised contributions to helping people adapt to climate change in Africa and to the conservation of biodiversity in Wales, and conservation of birds of prey, globally. So, it was very important to me to find continuity and a good future home for them. I have been extremely fortunate to pass on these projects now to a safe pair of GIS hands, my good friend Tim Wroblewski with his expert team from TACP in Cardiff (including Simon Trice and Andrew Rayner who have also helped very significantly over the years). I know that they will be able to maintain and grow the projects effectively into the future and I see great potential for TACP to expand further into these areas of work internationally.
